After the initial success of the book and the film, Christiane found herself becoming something of a celebrity, both in Germany and other countries in Western Europe. A subculture of teenage girls in Germany began to emulate her style of dress as well as making visits to the Bahnhof Zoo station, which became an unlikely tourist attraction. This surprised experts on youth drug abuse, who feared that despite the film's bleakness and the many sordid scenes (particularly those portraying the horrific realities of cold turkey), vulnerable youths may have regarded Christiane as a cult heroine and role model. The book sold so well - it was translated into most major West European languages - that Christiane remains able to support herself from the royalties. In the early 1980's Christiane released several records in collaboration with her then-boyfriend Alexander Hacke, with whom she also appeared in the 1983 German film Decoder. She later lived in the US and in Greece, before returning to Germany in 1993. She continued to struggle with drug addiction, however, and in 1994 enrolled in a methadone programme: treatment she has subsequently returned to when necessary. Christiane still receives fan-mail and is occasionally contacted by the German media, wanting to know how she is doing after all these years. As of 2008, she lives in a small apartment near Berlin with her son (born 1996).
In the television interview of the 2007 Christiane affirms to make daily use of metadone, and not to assume heroin anymore. Its physical conditions are not positive entirely: it seems that Christiane is by now she cuts from a chronic form of hepatitis, due naturally to her addict mistakes, because of which she has also been hospitalized for long time in the clinic and that she accuse a series of physical discomforts that force her to continuous controls.
Also in the interview of March 2008 confirmation the use of metadone, even if not daily. The drugs, declare as for to make only rare use of light drugs and above all of psychotropic drugs.
Both in the 2007 interview and in that of 2008, Christiane declares to still have contacts with the friends of the turn of the drug (what now it moved to Kottbusser Tör), even if it doesn't make use of amazing substances anymore. The choice to estrange from the drugs would be also dependent from the birth of her child and from the necessity to deal with him.
To contradict her declarations, has appeared unfortunately on the tabloid Berliner B. z. of August 10 th 2008 the news according to which the authorities Berliners would have subtracted her the custody of her child because of one relapse of his in the drug addiction. Christiane would have tried to move for a period with her child and the new companion to live in Holland, where she would have conducted a life from drug addict. Christiane F. / Christiana* - Wunderbar / Health Dub
1982: Christiane Felscherinow, better known as Christiane F., has just published her book "Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo". During a stay in the US, she records vocals for a record, but has no influence on the musical and artistic result. She only hears the outcome (A. Wunderbar) after its release and is horrified. She has the record stopped in order to re-record the song under the name of Christiana with musicians from Berlin's New Wave scene (B. Süchtig (Health Dub)).
At the Robert Johnson Club in Offenbach, the original US-version turned into a significant hit, so one soon decided to feature both versions on one record.
Perfect time documents that have not lost any of their fascination since their first release and should be preserved for future generations.

ALEXANDER HACKE(ex christiane's boyfriend)
a member of the german band Einstürzende Neubauten
s an avant-garde music band, originally from West Berlin, formed in 1980.

The band is often classified as industrial music or electronica. One of their 'trademarks' is the use of custom made instruments (usually, but not always, made out of scrap metal and building tools) and noises, in addition to standard musical instruments. Neubauten has always experimented with sounds, originally in noise music and recently in very diverse styles.

A film with the simple story subject of a man who wants to oppose the ever present muzak in a hamburger restaurant and other places deserves any credit it can get, surely if it has been made into this remarkable and very stylistic German cult films of the 80's. Inspired by W.S. Burroughs, who also has a cameo, the makers came up with a very tense, very good edited and very rhythmic film that invites the viewer not only to watch, but also to feel the poetry of the film.
There is the wonderful cinematography by Johanna Heer, giving in general the film a steal blue colour. Variations are made for the different characters and different situations. In an interview producer Klaus Maeck may have said that to him this style seemed to be exaggerated, I think that the film could not have done without this cinematographic style.
Then there is the very good music that accompanies the film, and adding to the rhythm of the film. The script, simple as it may be, is well written, although there are a couple of flaws, the main being that it takes too long. But do not expect a linear told story, this is not that kind of a film; you have to carefully study and interpret every image to know what is going on. This does not mean that the makers were not able to tell a story, it is part of the overall poetic style: the viewer has to go through this film.
Though the acting may not be of greatest importance as the filmed image is main story teller, some of the acting should have been much better. With all due respect to Christiane F., she never comes further than saying her lines. Bill Rice as the undercover agent is the best and seems to have walked out of a Raymond Chandler novel.
The riots you see are actual riots the makers made use of. The riots accompanied President Reagan's visit to Berlin. After seeing this film you probably will not enter any hamburger restaurant again, which to me may be the strongest reason to watch the film. I recommend this to the discriminating film buff. What a pity that this team never produced another one.
